Step 1

Heat oil in a pan.

Step 2

Splutter mustard seeds.

Step 3

Add fenugreek seeds and asafoetida.

Step 4

Add curry leaves, dry red chillies, chopped green chillies and chopped garlic one by one and saute well.

Step 5

Add chopped onion and fry well.

Step 6

Add chopped lady¦s finger and fry it well too.

Step 7

In-between, add turmeric powder, coriander powder and chilly powder.

Step 8

When it smells good, add tamarind paste and allow it boil for 10 mins.

Step 9

When it becomes a thick paste, remove from the flame.

Step 10

Garnish it with coriander leaves.

Step 11

:- Serve with hot rice, Dosa or Idly.

@reshmaas per ur comment given above, please note that it has been clearly mentioned that lady s finger and garlic has to be chopped

You have not said how to prepare the ladys finger, and also - should the garlic be grated or chopped? bad for a beginner to try this out!
