Step 1

Wash and cut tomato and boil it in water. Add turmeric powder, salt, red chillies, green chillies and ginger.

Step 2

Cook toovar dal in cooker adding little turmeric powder.

Step 3

Add the boiled toovar dal to the 1 st step mixture.

Step 4

Add asafoetida, pepper powder and keep cooking till the foam comes.

Step 5

After cooking is over, add lemon juice, curry leaves and coriander leaves to the mixture.

Step 6

Fry mustard seeds and cumin seeds in ghee and add to the mixture.

Step 7

Lemon rasam is ready to serve.
