Step 1

For preparing maharashtrian fish coconut curry, dry fry coriander seeds, cumin seeds and powder them with dry red chilies.

Step 2

Mix salt, turmeric powder and the ground powders to the fish pieces and allow it to marinate for sometime.

Step 3

Make a paste with the coconut milk, half of the onion and black pepper corns.

Step 4

Saute the remaining chopped onion in oil and add chopped tomato.

Step 5

When the oil separates, add the ground coconut paste and saute on high heat for a minute.

Step 6

Now add half cup of water, fish cubes and allow to boil. Cook on medium heat until the fish pieces are done.

Step 7

Add the tamarind paste, salt and simmer for 3 minutes and remove from fire.

Step 8

Maharastrian fish coconut curry, a yummy preparation is ready.Serve hot with steamed rice .
