Step 1

Soak the mixture of dals in water along with a little coriander seeds overnight.

Step 2

Grind the above in a mixer into a rough mixture.

Step 3

Mix this with the butter milk and stir well.

Step 4

Add a little turmeric powder and boil this mixture for 5-7 minutes after adding salt.

Step 5

Heat a little oil in a pan and add mustard seeds followed by fenugreek seeds, asafoetida, broken red chillies and curry leaves.

Step 6

When the mixture starts to boil, add this seasoning to it and mix well.

Step 7

:- Serve with steaming rice.

This method is Horrible, I love more kolambu but after trying this I lost interest totally, please remove this recipe.

Anjali, I tried ur the dish. I had come out sooo good !!! Of late i prepare only this at home. This has become my hubby`s favourite dish. Is it very popular in the south ??

Anjali ,i tried this receipe,it cameout well. I think most of us really doesn`t know the difference between kulambu and kuzhambu,anyways this is not any tamil competition site to be very perfect.......

I don`t know in which language its `cheruparippu`(may be Malayalam/Telugu)....if u got to write in Tamil recipe....make it `siruparuppu`...Then again, there is no such word in Tamil `kulambu`....make it `Kuzhambu`....because in Tamil `kulambu` means its `cow`s/goat`s/horse leg`.
