Muringayila Curry prepared from drumstick leaves is a traditional styled and very popular nutritious dish. In Kerala almost all have a drumstick tree in their kitchen garden. Drumstick trees are very beautiful to behold especially in the blooming season. Drumstick leaves can ward off all infectious diseases and can keep you healthy and strong. Rich in vital nutrients and minerals, Drumstick Leaves Curry is unique and delicious with drumstick leaves cooked in a spicy coconut mixture. The nutritious green should be included in your menu plan and should be prepared at least once a week. The unique curry is the simplest of dishes and can be easily prepared at home.   • For preparing Muringayila Curry, grind together grated coconut, cumin seeds, garlic, turmeric powder, rice and salt along with enough water into a smooth paste.
  • Add enough water and mix the paste well.
  • Heat oil in a pan or a kadai.
  • Splutter mustard seeds and saute red chillies and curry leaves.
  • Add drumstick leaves and saute for a while.
  • When done, add the diluted coconut paste and mix well.
  • When the foam starts to come, remove from the flame.
  • :- Do not boil it as it would reduce it's taste.
  • :- You can make the same Muringayila Curry by adding Dal or Parippu too. Kids would definitely love it. Note that you prepare Muringayia dish at least once a week.
