Pressure cook tomatoes upto 2 whistles.
Remove the skin of the cooked tomatoes and make it into a puree.
Boil 1 onion and make it into a paste.
Chop the other onion length-wise.
Fry the paneer lightly and keep aside.
Heat 3 tsp of butter in a pan or a kadai.
Fry the chopped onion, until it turns light brown.
Add onion paste, ginger-garlic paste and cashewnut paste and stir for about 3 - 4 mins.
Add garam masala powder and stir for another couple of mins.
Add tomato puree, chilly powder, yogurt and kasuri methi and stir for about 5 mins.
Add paneer, sugar and salt to the mixture and stir for about 3 - 4 mins.
Garnish with 1 tsp of butter, cream and coriander leaves.
* You can increase the quantity of water if you need more gravy.* You can add 500gm tomato passata instead of tomatoes* Alternately you can fry all the onions till light brown and gring to paste.
Best Recipe. I loved it. Thanks for sharing the wonderful recipe with us. Buy Online Spices online at http://www.mangalorespice.com
Excellent recipe although very rich. I used the passata instead of fresh tomatoes
This is by far the best recipe i have tried from this site......regardless of how many times i have made this, it always turns out good..
This was an excellent dish . My husband liked it very much i also added some bread crumbs to it.
This recipe is D-VINE. Just because I m a wannabe Indian, and not a real one, I substitute Haloumi for the paneer because I m too lazy to make it - and it is VERY tasty and good!
Dear Shivdeep Really wonderful taste. Excellent recipe. Keep it Up.
This is excellent curry, everybody like it very much, thank u very much for posting this recipe.u will make me a good cook!!!!!
I have tried to make paneer butter masala several times and did not come out well. Tried this recipe and it was very tasty, a must try dish.
APOLOGIES FOR MISSING OUT 2 INGREDIENTS.
PLEASE ADD 1 TSP CHILLY POWDER AND 2 TBSP YOGURT/CURD AT STEP 10.
I want 2 try this recipe but have no clue wat this kasuri methi is.... please advice...
This is an excellent recipe..i tried and it came out really great. Thanks!!!! As most of the reviews said, chilli powder was missed out...even i added chilli powder and it was great
Yaar banane ke baad bataunga....
excellent pe is liye rakkha hun, kyunki us main mere liye dusra option nahi hai....
Also wanted to say that I added a little bit of chilly powder and ommitted adding the cream at the end. And I just browned the paneer in some oil instead of butter. The only time I added butter was at the very end before turning the gas off. Nevertheless, it came out really well.
An excellent recipe for paneer butter masala. I just made it now and felt that I had to rate it immediately ! I had tried making this from different websites desperate to create an authentic paneer masala, just like the ones we get in restaurants. And let me tell u, never was I able to do justice until today. I made it at last !! The kasuri methi is a must-add for this recipe, without which its nearly impossible to get that restuarant taste, so folks, do not attempt to make this unless u have kasuri methi in yr pantry. Thanx very much for this one !
Hey ..give general receipes..it was not that much good..what i have expected!!!!!
I didnt find it that much good, this has to be improved
I tried this dish it came out very well, I think you have 4gotten to write to add the chilli powder, anyways I added a bit and came out very well.
Superb....It was so nice. Expecting more recipes frm u. Pls post recipes on mutter paneer and paalak paneer.....
Excellent!!!It turned out really well. Like we get in hotels
This came out excellent, very professional like in restaurants. Good as a gravy dish as well as dry. Just vary water content as per desired consistency. Thank you.
I tried this for the first time when I had some guest.Everybody liked a lot.It was so tasty.I definitely gona make it again. The suggestion from my side is if u are going to follow this recipe u wil be getting a thick gravy. It will be more good if u add a little water to it to make it light.
It turned ot very good.....my husband liked it very much....thank you very much for the nice authentic recipe
