Malabar is famous for its unique cuisine.Orotti is one among them.This Orotti recipe is the simplest and the most commenly made one.In this recipe I used wheat flour to make Orotti.some people like to spice up the Orottis by adding finely chopped onion and cumin seed while making the dough.Here I use grated coconut to make the dough.

Step 1 Orotti Recipe

In a bowl add the wheat flour along with grated coconut and salt.Mix all together adding little at a time and make a sticky dough.

Keep some water in a bowl and keep it aside.Take a leaf ,dip the fingers into the water and spread the dough into a thick bread(Orotti) and place another leaf on the top.

Heat a clay pan /non stock pan cook both sides until golden brown in colour.

Remove the leaf and cook again for few seconds.
