Step 1

Soak white rice for 3-4 hours. Grind the soaked rice along with cooked rice and water to make a medium thick batter.

Add coconut,cumin seeds,small onions along with salt,mix it properly and keep it aside for 10 -20 minutes.

Heat ottada tawa (mud pan is best)and pour one ladleful of batter. Cover and cook it for 5-7 minutes on medium flame.

We can see small holes once it is cooked. No need to flip them.

Ottada is ready. Serve hot with any curries.
