Pressure cook dhal with water and turmeric powder.
Add paalak, salt and chilly powder to the cooked dhal and allow it to boil.
Grind together coconut, cumin seeds, shallots and green chillies wth little water.
Add this to the dal and continue to boil for about 5 mins.
Season with mustard seeds, red chillies and curry leaves in cocount oil.
:- Serve hot with rice.

Tried this recipe.For the first time my palak and dal curry tasted so good.What happened is..after cooking I kept my cooker on low fire and forgot to turn off.when i came back to kitchen..3/4 of the water got evaporated and it looked like a thick erissery and for my surprise it tasted really really good.I was really searching for a tasty palak recipe.Thank you ambili and do share more recipes.
