hindi: Cheeni / Shakkar
Clean the pressure cooker properly.
Wash the rice ada first in cold water and then in hot water.
Pour the milk (1.5 ltr) into the cooker.
Add the washed ada into it.
Add sugar into it.
:- Sugar amount can be varied which depends on your taste. More sugar you put, more tastier it will be. Ideally 3 cups of sugar should be okay for 1.5 ltr of milk.
Keep the pressure cooker on gas stove with the whistle placed properly.
Once you get the first whistle, put the flame to minimum and keep the cooker for approx 20 mins.
:- Milk might come out when it whistles, pls clean it using a cloth.
Switch off the gas and wait till its safe to open the cooker.
:- This is the easiest way and you will get the same style of traditional sadya palada :-) Try it and let me know your comments.......
:- I suggest you to use good quality rice ada for optimum result. Priya or double horse ada will be ideal.
It was really excellent...If condensed milk is also added, it will best recipe for palada..
Excellent recipe...came out as a real "sadya paalada" my whole family liked it...and the key point is less time and a real good outcome. But i think, with the given quantity of ingredients, we can make palada paayasam for 7-8 adults... was more than enough for my family with 8 members. Regards Raji.

To avoid milk from seeping out through the whistle you may drop a small ladle inside the bowl or cooker in which u have the milk.milk never spills out.
