Clean the dal and cook it well in the cooker

Take a pan and allow jeera seeds to crackle. Then add onion, curry leaves and green chillies and give it a nice stir till the onions turn golden.
Then add the turmeric powder

Once the onions becomes golden, add the cooked dal and salt and allow it to boil

garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with steamed rice and papadam
