Step 1

Peel, wash and cut potatoes into small cubes (1/2 cm x 1/2 cm).

Step 2

Sprinkle some salt and keep aside for 15 minutes.

Step 3

Fry them in hot oil till golden brown.

Step 4

Heat a little oil in a pan.

Step 5

Add mustard, fenugreek, whole chillies(deseeded) and asafoetida.

Step 6

Grind this to a fine paste.

Step 7

Mix together tamarind juice and ground masala.

Step 8

Mix together fried potatoes and the above tamarind paste.

Step 9

Check the seasonings.

Step 10

:- Serve hot.
