Prawn Cutlet

Cooked and mashed prawns mixed with coconut and other ingredients to make cutlets

  • Clean the prawns and wash nicely. Drain and keep aside.
  • Take a pan and put the cleaned prawns, one cup water, vinegar and required salt. Cook in medium heat until the prawns are cooked and water evaporates completely.
  • Crush coarsely the cooked prawns in a blender and keep aside.
  • Take a pan and pour oil. Heat the oil and splutter cumin seeds. Add minced shallots, green chillies, ginger, garlic, turmeric powder, coconut, mashed potato, lime juice and required salt. Mix gently and add the crushed prawns. Remove from fire.
  • Add some minced coriander leaves and mix.
  • Make small cutlets with your palm. Dip each cutlet in the beaten egg and roll in bread crumbs.
  • Take a pan and pour sufficient oil for deep frying. Fry both sides of the prawn cutlet until golden in color.
  • Yummy prawn cutlet is ready and serve hot.
