Step 1

First wash the prawns well and drain. Soak Dal and pottukadala in water for 30 mins before the making the dish.

Step 2

Mince the prawns in a mixer grinder little by little.

Step 3

:- The prawns must not be minced too much. Just 1 or 2 pulse is enough to grind their flesh.

Step 4

Set it aside.

Step 5

Wash the mixer thouroughly and then grind together Channa dal and Pottukadala followed by green chillies, curry leaves, turmeric powder, fennel seeds, cumin seeds, ginger and garlic

Step 6

Finely mix the minced prawns and and dal well.

Step 7

Finally add onion.

Step 8

Add salt and mix well.

Step 9

Heat oil in a kadai.

Step 10

Pat the mix into little vadas in your hand and then deep fry them for 2 - 3 mins.

Step 11

:- Serve hot with rice, fish curry and biryani too.
