Step 1

Marinate cleaned and washed prawns with chilly powder, turmeric powder, little water and salt.

Step 2

Refrigerate for atleast 30 mins.

Step 3

Fry prawns with little oil.

Step 4

:- Do not deep fry.

Step 5

Keep fried prawns aside.

Step 6

Heat 2 tbsp of coconut oil in a pan.

Step 7

Add ginger and garlic and fry for 1 minute.

Step 8

Add green chillies, curry leaves and onion.

Step 9

Add salt and mix well.

Step 10

Stir till onions go brown.

Step 11

:- If oil is not enough, you may add more.

Step 12

Add chilli (Kashmiri) powder only after the onions turn brown.

Step 13

Add tomato and fried prawns at the same time.

Step 14

Simmer flame and keep the pan closed for 10 mins.

Step 15

:- Serve with chappattis, appam, fried rice, ghee rice, puris....

Step 16

:- EVEN MORE DELICIOUS WHEN SMALL ONIONS(KUNJULLI OR SHALLOTS) ARE USED INSTEAD OF BIG ONIONS.

This was awesome man. I prepared this on my wedding anniversary and it was really great. We had champagne and this was the side dish. Hats off to you poornima.

oh.. wow.. it was great8888888... This is the second time am havin such a great dish... First time i had it from my close friends house. He is an engineer from calicut. His mother and gf has that kai punnyam... Did they give you this recipe...?? bi... john
