Step 1

For preparing pumpkin in spicy tomato sauce, heat oil in a deep frying pan.

Step 2

Splutter cumin seeds and mustard seeds.

Step 3

Add in the onion and garlic. Saute for 5 minutes.

Step 4

Then add turmeric powder, chilly powder, coriander powder, cumin powder and salt. Saute for 2 minutes.

Step 5

Add the pumpkin and half cook it.

Step 6

Then add in the tomato puree and chopped tomatoes into the pan. Mix well.

Step 7

Pour water and cover the pan. Allow it to simmer until the sauce thickens.

Step 8

Stir in the coriander leaves and garam masala. Allow it to cook for until the pumpkin becomes tender.

Step 9

Pumpkin in spicy tomato sauce is ready. Serve as a side dish.
