Chop the onions into big pieces. Mix all the spices and the chillies in the gram flour and make a thick batter. Add the salt and mix the onion pieces. Carefully put a little batter at a time in hot oil. Fry till golden brown turning in between, keeping the flame on medium. Enjoy them hot as is or with chutney.
