Step 1

For preparing raw mango rice, grind raw mango, grated coconut and red chillies without adding water to a coarse paste. Keep aside

Step 2

Now heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds let it splutter.

Step 3

Then add split bengal gram, split black gram, turmeric powder and asafoetida. Allow it to become a bit brown.

Step 4

Toss in the dry red chillies and peanuts. Roast until the peanuts turn slightly brown.

Step 5

Pour in the ground paste and salt. Saute until the moisture evaporates and the oil separates. Remove it from the oven.

Step 6

Add the cooked rice and mix well until it is coated well. Check and add salt only if required.

Step 7

Raw mango rice is ready. Serve hot.
