Step 1

Soak rice in water for 10 mins.

Step 2

Fry in ghee for few minutes and keep it aside.

Step 3

Grind together garlic, ginger, 6 cloves, 3 cinnamon sticks, 3 red chillies, aniseeds, coriander seeds and coconut to a fine paste.

Step 4

Heat oil in a pressure pan.

Step 5

Add cinnamon, cloves, bay leaf and cardamoms.

Step 6

Add onions followed by tomatoes and vegetables and fry for 2 mins.

Step 7

Add ground paste and saute, till the raw smell of garlic-ginger leaves.

Step 8

Add rice and water.

Step 9

Wait till the water boils and then close the cooker and keep the stove in sim and wait for two whistles.

Step 10

:- Serve with curd raitha.
