Directions

Step 1

Soak black gram overnight.

Step 2

Drain off the excess water.

Step 3

Grind it in a grinder without using water.

Step 4

Heat oil in a pan.

Step 5

By the time the oil gets heated, beat the mixture with a little water till it becomes fluffy.

Step 6

Add salt and soda-bi-carb.

Step 7

Wet your palm and spread 1 tbsp of the mixture on it and make a hole in the center to get the desired shape. Carefully remove it from your palm and fry them to a golden brown colour.

Step 8

While serving, put these vadas in a bowl of Sambar topped with chopped coriander leaves.

Step 9

:- Makes 25 Vadas.

Adding two tablespoons of toordal with the urad dal will make the vadai more crispier. Especially for sambar vada there is no need to add onions in the flour. Instead, we put onions in sambar. And only tomato and onions for the sambar. No vegetables needed in the sambar for the sambar vada.

Arey, I dont think this uzhunnu vada is gonna taste good.No spices and other main ingredients.

You cannot make a tasty uzhunnu vada with this recipe. You have to add small onions, ginger, chilli and curry leaves to make a better vada.

This is uzhunnuvada(sambaravada)she is right,but she jzt missed about adding and ginger and green chilli to it :)

Hi Anjali, This is not Vada. This uzhunnu Unda. To make vada ,ginger and chill is essential.
