Step 1

For preparing semolina beetroot idly¦s, grind semolina and split black gram together.

Step 2

Mix it with salt.

Step 3

Keep it overnight to ferment.

Step 4

Mix in the grated beetroot, onion and curry leaves well.

Step 5

Grease the idly moulds with some oil and pour the beetroot batter in the moulds.

Step 6

Steam it in an idly steamer till done.

Step 7

Remove it from the steamer and allow it to cool.

Step 8

Semolina beetroot idlys are ready. Serve with chutney.
