Step 1

Marinate shrimps with vinegar, ginger-garlic paste, chilly powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, black pepper and salt for at least 1/2 hour.

Step 2

Heat oil in a pan.

Step 3

Splutter mustard seeds.

Step 4

Add marinated shrimps into it.

Step 5

Saute for 5 mins on a medium-high flame. Stir it occasionally.

Step 6

Add whole pearl onions, chopped onions, green chillies and curry leaves and saute on a medium flame for 15 mins.

Step 7

Let the juice in shrimp and the onions mix with each other.

Step 8

Once the onions are transparent, add coconut milk.

Step 9

Boil it for 5 mins.

Step 10

Add sliced tomato to the boiling curry and close with a lid.

Step 11

Turn off the flame and let it stay undisturbed for at least 15 mins.

Step 12

Add required salt.

Step 13

:- Serve with Appam, Chappathis and Rice.

Step 14

:- If the shrimp is uncooked, just marinate them and stir fry in the oil for 15 mins on medium flame and proceed to the remaining steps.

For marinating I added 4x of chilly turmeric powders.. I didn t had coriander powder. Instead of adding shrimp right after putting mustard seeds, I added onions cooked it abt half way thru and added green chillies and added 2 mid size tomatoes and sauted it till it was soft juicy. I added shrimp after that. It came out real good and had a different flavor. Thanks so much for the recipe !

Very good. I loved the taste. I usually make Thai with this much coconut milk. Only con is that texture was a bit thick. And high cholesterol too.

it`s great. Usually i dont like shrimp..but the aroma made me taste this. and i luved it. my husband liked it a lot. Here after if it shrim it must be this curry.nothing else. thanx a lot for this recipe.

Excellent is an understatement!! It came out very well and the whole crowd enjoyed it. Its in great demand now, that my friend just dropped in 3lbs of shrimps requesting me to make this for her. Send in more of the types.
