Directions

Step 1

For preparing simple pappadam, finely grind split black gram into a flour.

Step 2

Add salt, soda-bicarb and asafoetida(you can add flavors like black pepper, garlic or chilly etc as your taste).

Step 3

Add water to make a hard dough and knead it for some time.

Step 4

Roll out around 100 round pancakes each weighing around 10 to 12 grams, with about 7 " diameter.

Step 5

Allow it to dry in the sun well.

6)Store in an air tight container.

Step 6

Simple pappadam is ready. It can be roasted or deep fried in oil when necessary.
