Step 1

Heat about 4 cups of water in a wok/kadai.

Step 2

Add the chilly powder, coriander powder, pepper powder, ginger garlic paste and turmeric powder.

Step 3

Let this sauce boil, until it is reduced to half the quantity.

Step 4

Add the kokum/tamarind pulp to the sauce and let it boil until the kokum paste is well cooked and the raw smell disappears.

Step 5

Add the prawns and salt to taste.

Step 6

When the prawns curl up, add the coconut milk and simmer for about 5 mins and then switch off the stove.

Step 7

:- Serve with plain rice and papad.

Step 8

:- This is a healthy dish since there is no oil used.


Came out excellent. I guess nandita doesnt know to follow instructions or does not like trying different cuisines. This is an authentic goan recipe and is a must try for everyone.
