Step 1

For preparing sooyi-chappu vada, soak the chickpeas in water for 5 hours.

Step 2

Grind it finely to make a smooth paste.

Step 3

Knead together all the ingredients onion, sooyi chappu, green chillies, ginger, turmeric powder, chilly powder, salt, curry leaves with the chickpeas paste.

Step 4

Make small balls out of the dough and press it lightly.

Step 5

Fry these vadas in oil.

Step 6

Serve with coconut chutney or tomato sauce.
