Step 1

For preparing special green gram curry, heat oil in a large pan and fry the cumin seeds, black peppercorns, cardamom pods and turmeric for 3 minutes on low flame.

Step 2

Saute the onion for 5 minutes until golden.

Step 3

Add in the powder cumin, coriander powder and garam masala. Saute for further 2 minutes.

Step 4

Then add the green chilly, garlic and ginger. Fry for 3 minutes on low flame, stirring constantly.

Step 5

Add in the tomatoes and salt. Mix well and allow it to simmer for 5 minutes.

Step 6

Toss in the soaked green gram and mix well. Cover and allow it to cook on low flame.

Step 7

Garnish with coriander leaves and remove it from the flame.

Step 8

Special green gram curry is ready. Serve naan, parathas or chapattis.
