Step 1

For preparing spicy coconut mutton gravy, heat oil in a pressure cooker.

Step 2

Fry cumin seeds, cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, fennel seeds, garlic, ginger and fenugreek seeds.

Step 3

Fry till brown and grind it into a fine paste. Keep this masala paste aside.

Step 4

In another vessel fry the grated coconut with small onions till golden brown in colour. Allow it to cool and grind it to a fine paste.

Step 5

In the same pressure cooker oil, sautT the onions till it becomes transparent.

Step 6

Add chilly powder, coriander powder, salt, turmeric powder and the ground masala paste. Saute it well for 5 minutes on low flame.

Step 7

Toss in the mutton pieces with required water and allow it to cook till it becomes tender.

Step 8

Pour in the ground coconut paste, tamarind juice and coconut milk to the cooked muton. Mix it well and allow it to simmer for 10 minutes.

Step 9

Spicy mutton gravy is ready. Serve hot with rice or chappathi.
