Step 1

For preparing split black gram gravy, first cook split black gram in water and salt in a pressure cooker.

Step 2

After it is done, add lemon juice and mix well.

Step 3

Heat ghee in a vessel.

Step 4

Splutter in cumin seeds and mustard seeds.

Step 5

Add in onion, dry red chillies, asafoetida, curry leaves, green chillies, ginger and garlic. Allow it to cook for 1 minute.

Step 6

Then add the seasoning to the cooked split black gram.

Step 7

Garnish with cilantro.

Step 8

Split black gram gravy is ready. Serve hot with chapathi.
