Step 1

For preparing tamarind side dish, soak the tamarind in 2 1/2 cups of water.

Step 2

Squeeze it with your fingers and strain the tamarind juice into a bowl.

Step 3

To the tamarind juice add onion, tomato, salt, green chillies and pepper powder.

Step 4

Again squeeze all the ingredients with your hands.

Step 5

Tamarind side dish is ready. Serve with gruel, rice etc.
