Tamil Nadu Diamond Cuts

Step 1

Kneed maida well and remove any lumps and add salt and baking powder.

Step 2

Beat egg and mix it well with maida.

Step 3

Add 200ml of warm water and 2 tsp of oil and make it a smooth dough.

Step 4

Make small balls and spread it to thin sheets like chappatti.

Step 5

Cut it into pieces by longitudinal and horizontal lines at about 1 inch in length and breadth.

Step 6

Deep fry it in oil till golden brown in colour and keep it aside.

Step 7

Boil jaggery in water and drain it to remove sediments.

Step 8

After removing sediments add cardomom and boil it till 3 strings appear in the spoon.
:- or else till the liquid is thick that it does not flow properly.

Step 9

Add the fried diamond cuts into it and mix well.

Step 10

Now transfer it to a greased plate.
