Step 1

Sieve flour with baking powder, soda bi carb and salt.

Step 2

Mix sugar, egg, milk and water and knead it well into a medium soft dough.

Step 3

Apply a little oil over it and cover it with a wet cloth for one hour.

Step 4

Make 10 equal sized balls.

Step 5

Apply a little oil and put onion seeds on top.

Step 6

Press sides first and then center of the dough ball.

Step 7

Roll it into a round shape.

Step 8

Stretch it from one side to give a triangular (elongated) shape.

Step 9

Put it on a cloth pad and put it on a preheated Tandoor wall or cook in a preheated oven (250 ª C), by placing it on a greased tray.

Step 10

Remove, when it is crisp and golden brown on both sides, with the help of skewers.

Whoever rated this recipe as good has either not eaten the real naan. Naan is yeasted bread & not to be made like a cake.

thnx for the yummy and easy recipe. hey guys...kalonji is neither perumjeerakam(fennel) nor karun jeerakam(black jeera).it`s a different seed which u will get in any indian store.i think we malayaalees doesnt use that in our dishes.

Hey Suma..onion seeds are nothing but Karun jiragam in malayalam, Kalounji or Munga reala in Hindi...
