Step 1

First poach fish in milk and water for 8-10 minutes. Sprinkle salt and pepper.

Step 2

Take the fish out of the liquid and flake.

Step 3

Mash the boiled potatoes adding a knob of butter and little milk. Season with salt and pepper. Add peas into it.

Step 4

In a pan, heat remaining butter and stir in flour. Cook for 2 minutes.

Step 5

Pour slowly the poaching liquid which we set aside and bring contents to boil.

Step 6

Stir continuously until the sauce thickens.

Step 7

Remove pan from heat and add flaked fish and chopped parsley.

Step 8

Sprinkle some salt and pepper.

Step 9

Now take a baking dish and spread the fish mixture. Top with mashed potato.

Step 10

Spread grated cheese, tomato puree and tomato sauce over the potatoes and cook in a preheated oven for 30 minutes at 200ªC.

Step 11

Tasty fish/machhli pie, a tasty as well as nutritious dish is ready. Serve hot and enjoy.
