Step 1

Heat 2 tsp of oil in a pan.

Step 2

Add the chopped tomatoes, grated carrot, turmeric powder, coriander powder, salt, rasam powder and pepper powder and saute for 1 minute.

Step 3

Cover the pan and cook on medium flame for 5 mins.

Step 4

Mash/blend the above mixture.

Step 5

Boil the above mixture with 3 cups of water and tamarind pulp for 3 - 4 mins.

Step 6

Garnish with coriander leaves and switch off the stove.

Step 7

Heat oil in another small frying pan.

Step 8

Add and fry the seasoning ingredients like mustard, cumin, red chilly, curry leaves and 1 garlic pod until done.

Step 9

Add it to the rasam and keep covered for 5 mins.

Step 10

:- Tasty and nutritious rasam is ready which tastes good with white rice.

Step 11

:- Serve it with papad. This Rasam is really good for people/kids who are picky eaters.
