Step 1

cut fish, make a paste of salt , turmeric and chillie powder and apply to fish and shallow fry and keep aside.

Step 2

Cut onions, ginger, garlic green chillies into small pieces and fry this in oil.

Step 3

Add cut tomatoes, chillie powder, corriander powder, turmeric powder, and fry well till you see oil come out of this mixture.

Step 4

Pour this mixture over the fried fish and garnish with corriander leaves and curry leaves.

Step 5

Enjoy!!!

I tried with a pinch of sugar with the tomato pre-boiled and with the skin removed, made to a paste in blender. It does make a difference. The typical calicut style tomato fish curry. The onions too need to be chopped finely into small pieces.
