Ingredients

  • Wheat rice 200g
    onion 2 no.
    tomato 2 no.
    carrot 1no.
    green chili 2no.
    mint leaves 1/4 cup
    red chili 2 no.
    ginger garlic paste 2 tsp
    salt to taste
    sambar masala powder 1 tsp
    turmeric powder 1 tsp
    oil 4 tsp
    ghee 2 tsp
    mustard 1 tsp
    broken urad dal 1/2 tsp
    bengal gram 1/2 tsp

Directions

Step 1

wash and soak the wheat rice in water for 1/2 hour

Step 2

chop the onion. red chili , green chili and carrot

Step 3

in a cooker heat the oil and ghee and temper the mustard, broken urad dal and bengal gram

Step 4

add onion, red chili and green chili and saute it until the onion turn into brown

Step 5

add chopped tomato and mix well

Step 6

add ginger garlic paste and mix well

Step 7

add turmeric powder, sambar masala and salt and mix well

Step 8

add carrot and mix it and allow to cook for 5 mins

Step 9

now add water for 200 gm wheat rice add 400 gram water and allow to boil ( 1:2 ratio)

Step 10

once the water boiled add wheat rice and mix well, after two mins keep in pressure and allow for 1 whistle

Step 11

now wheat rice briyani is ready, garnish with coriander leaves and cashews.
