Step 1

For preparing carrot vada, soak urad dal in water for 2 hours.

Step 2

Drain and blend it(do not add too much of water while blending). It should have a very thick consistency.

Step 3

Put the blended mixture in a bowl.

Step 4

Add in salt, grated carrot, pepper powder, green chillies, curry leaves, coriander leaves and ginger paste. Mix it well and keep it aside for ten minutes.

Step 5

Heat oil in a deep frying pan.

Step 6

Make small lemon sized balls out of the above thick mixture.

Step 7

Flatten them slightly and deep fry it on both sides till they become golden brown in color.

Step 8

Carrot vada¦s are ready. Serve hot with sambar.
