They are also a good diet food .This batter is prepared specially for idlies without adding any urad dal to it. They become spongy ,soft and puffy by adding castor oil seeds to it. the batter of this gets ready only after fermenting it for 5 - 6 hours.

Ingredients

  • idli rice 3 cups
    methi seeds (fenu greek) 3 tbsp
    castor oil seeds 5-6 nos
    salt to taste

soak rice and dal along with castor oil seeds for 5 hours

first grind the rice and then grind fenu greek and castor oil seeds and mix to together
