Vallarai Thuvayal (Brahmi Leaves)

Brahmi leaves are said to be a powerful brain tonic and these are the leaves that enhances ones memory power. These leaves contain a mild bitterness in it naturally but in this recipe we have prepared a thuvayal or chutney which taste awesome that there isn't any clue of its bitterness. This vallarai thuvayal is very essential for growing kids . This thuvayal is prepared by sauting the vallarai or brahmi leafs in oil along with onions, tomatoes and finally grinding it like chutney.

  • brahmi leafs cleaned 1 cup
    mustard
    channa dal urad dal -each 1 sp
    shallots ( baby onions) 1 cup
    red chilli 2
    green chilli 2
    salt to taste
    coconut slits 1/2 cup

saute mustard ,channa dal and urad dal
