For preparing Appam With Instant Mix Appapodi, first dissolve yeast in 1-2 tbsp of milk and keep aside.
Mix the appapodi with sugar along with the remaining milk and water in a blender for a minute.
Add the yeast mixture to the batter and let it ferment in a stainless steel bowl either in an oven with a pilot or in an electric yoghurt maker or under a 100 watt light bulb placed a foot above the batter mixture. :- The amount of time for fermentation is variable. The batter should have tiny holes from the release of carbon dioxide and it may take 4-8 hours.
Heat a non stick appa chatti on slow flame and once well heated rub butter just to glisten the surface.
