Beetroot Halwa – Traditional
Traditional Indian sweet made with beetroot and coconut milk

  1. Grate beetroot and keep aside.
  2. Fry cashews in 2 tsp of ghee and keep aside.
  3. Mix maida with coconut milk and keep aside.
  4. Heat ghee in a pan.
  5. Add grated beetroot and keep stirring.
  6. Add little water if required.
  7. Keep frying until beetroot is cooked.
  8. Add the maida mixture to beetroot and stir well.
  9. After it comes to a boil, add sugar.
  10. Let it boil well until the beetroot gets a jam-like consistency.
  11. Remove from flame.
  12. Add fried cashes and cardamom powder.
  13. Top with additional ghee and serve.
