  1. Wash the broken wheat and allow it to drain.
  2. Take a pressure cooker and pour oil. Heat the oil. Splutter mustard seeds and black gram dal.
  3. Add chopped spinach, drumstick leaves, grated coconut, chopped onion, ginger, green chillies and required salt. Saute for sometime.
  4. Add broken wheat and stir for sometime.
  5. Add 1 1/2 cup water and close the pressure cooker. Cook for 1 whistle.
  6. Broken wheat upma is ready and serve hot.
