  1. Take a big vessel enough to be placed inside a pressure cooker.
  2. Wash 2 cups of red gram and put it in the above vessel along with enough water to cook it.
  3. Add cabbage, tomato, chilly powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder and garlic to the uncooked dal along with salt and 1/2 cup of water.
  4. Place the vessel in the pressure cooker and cook upto 4 – 5 whistles.
  5. Heat oil in a small pan.
  6. Pour it into the curry and mix well.
  7. :- Serve with plain white rice.
