Chicken Coriander Curry
Spicy Chicken made with coriander leaves

  • Chicken pieces – 500gm
  • Oil 1/2Cup
  • Onion(chopped) – 3nos
  • garlic(sliced) – 4cloves
  • Tomato puree – 4tbsp
  • Coriander leaves(chopped) – 2cups
  • Red chilly(Vattal Mulaku) – 5nos
  • Black pepper(crushed) – 1tbsp
  • Mustard seeds 1tbsp
  • Garam masala(Cinnamon sticks, ellachi, grambu) : 1 tbsp –
  • Fenugreek powder(Uluva/Methi) : 1/2 tbsp –
  • Water 1/2cup
  • Turmeric : 1/4 tsp –
  • Salt(As reqd) –
  • Curry leaves(Few) –
  1. Into a blender pour coriander leaves, dry red chillies, crushed black pepper, mustard seeds, garam masala, fenugreek powder and half cup water. Grind well to form a coriander mixture which is a bit watery.
  2. Heat a pan and add some oil. When hot, put the chopped onions and salt as required. Do not fry the onions too much.
  3. Add garlic which has been cut into small pieces and saute well with the onions.
  4. Add the coriander mixture over the onion and heat it for 5 minutes.
  5. Add the Chicken pieces into the pan and mix it well and close the lid of the pan.
  6. Once chicken and the gravy starts boiling, add the tomato puree and mix it thoroughly and close the lid.
  7. Chicken should be cooked properly and the gravy should be thick.
  8. Transfer the Curry to a Bowl and garnish it with curry leaves.
