Ingredients
  • Green chilka moong dal (with skin) : 1 cup –
  • Yellow moong dal (without skin) : ¼ cup –
  • Channa dal : ¼ cup –
  • Garlic finely chopped : 5 – 6cloves
  • Onions (medium) : 3 nos(finely chopped) –
  • Green chillies(finely chopped) – 4
  • Turmeric powder : ½ tsp –
  • Whole jeera : ½ tsp –
  • Oil : 3 tsp –
  • Ghee : 1 tsp –
  • Chopped coriander leaves : few –
  • Salt to taste –
Instructions
  1. Wash the chilka moong dal (with skin), yellow moong dal (without skin) and channa dal together under running cold water till the water runs clear.
  2. Boil the dal in a pressure cooker, 4-5 whistles. Heat the oil and ghee together in a pan and fry ½ tsp whole jeera.3) Add the garlic, onions and green chilies and fry till golden brown in color.4) Fry till the onions are a pale brown in color.
  3. Add the boiled dals, ½ tsp turmeric powder and salt and mix well with a masher.
  4. You can add a little water, if required. Cook till the dals boil and are well blended. 7) Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
  5. :- Serve with rice or roti.
