  • Butter flavored shortening – 1cup
  • White sugar 3/4cup
  • Brown sugar 3/4cup
  • Eggs – 2nos
  • Mexican vanilla extract – 2tsp
  • Allpurpose flour(Maida) – 2 1/4cups
  • Baking soda – 1tsp
  • Salt 1tsp
  • Milk chocolate chips – 2cups
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. Grease cookie sheets.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the butter flavored shortening, brown sugar and white sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well with each addition.
  5. Stir in the vanilla.
  6. Combine the flour, baking soda and salt.
  7. Gradually stir into the creamed mixture.
  8. Finally, fold in the chocolate chips.
  9. Drop by rounded spoonfuls onto the prepared cookie sheets.
  10. Bake for 8 – 10 mins in the preheated oven, until light brown.
  11. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 mins, before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.
  12. ***Note : Mexican vanilla extract can be found in Mexican grocery stores. If you can`t find it, feel free to substitute regular vanilla extract.
