  1. Dry roast red gram, chana dhal, black gram, red chillies and asoefoetida in cooking oil.
  2. Grind this mixture with water into a thick paste.
  3. Add coconut, tamarind and salt and grind it for a few more seconds until all the mixture blends into a smooth paste.
  4. :- Serve Coconut Chutney (Thengai Thigayal) with steamed rice or can be served with dosa(rice pan cakes).
