  • Mutton – 1kg
  • Onions(finely chopped) – 4nos
  • Tomatoes(finely chopped) – 3nos
  • Ginger(garlic paste – 1 1/2 tbsp) –
  • Chilly powder – 3tsp
  • Turmeric powder 1/2tsp
  • Cumin seed(Jeerakam) – 1tsp
  • Garam masala powder – 1tsp
  • Coconut(grated) – 1/2cup
  • Coriander leaves(finely chopped) – 5springs
  • Curds – 1/2cup
  • Almonds – 20nos
  • Ghee(As reqd) –
  • Salt(As reqd) –
  1. For preparing easy rogan josh, grind together grated coconut, garam masala powder, chilly powder, turmeric powder, cumin seeds, green chillies, tomatoes and almonds to a fine paste.
  2. Heat ghee in a pressure cooker and saute the onions till it becomes golden brown in colour.
  3. Then add in the ground paste and salt. Saute it till the ghee separates.
  4. Toss in the cubed mutton pieces and saute it for another 1 minute. Close the lid of the pressure cooker and allow it to cook with required water.
  5. Once done, garnish with coriander leaves and remove it from the flame.
  6. Rogan josh is ready.
