  • Basmati rice(cooked) – 1cup
  • Fish fillets(chopped) – 1/2kg
  • Onion(finely chopped, big) – 1no
  • Green chilies(slit) – 2nos
  • Green peas(cooked) – 1/2cup
  • Split Bengal gram(Uzhunnu parippu) – 1tsp
  • Cashew nuts – 2tbsp
  • Mustard seeds 1/2tsp
  • Turmeric powder 1/2tsp
  • Chilly powder – 1tsp
  • Pepper powder(A pinch) –
  • Lemon juice – 5tbsp
  • Curry leaves 2springs
  • Coriander leaves(finely chopped) – 5springs
  • Oil(As reqd) –
  • Salt(As reqd) –
  1. For preparing fish with rice, heat oil in a pan and splutter mustard seeds.
  2. Toss in the split bengal gram and cashew nuts. Saute till it becomes brown.
  3. Add in the curry leaves, onions and green chillies. Fry it till the onions become golden brown in colour.
  4. Then add turmeric, salt and chilly powder. Saute for a minute.
  5. Stir in the fish fillets and pepper powder. Sprinkle a little water.
  6. Allow the fish to cook on low flame with a closed lid.
  7. Add in the cooked green peas and rice.
  8. Pour in the lemon juice and mix well.
  9. Garnish with coriander leaves.
  10. Fish with rice is ready. Serve hot.
