Chicken cooked in honey and wine

  • Boneless Chicken(cut into long strips) – 1/2kg
  • garlic(finely chopped) – 7nos
  • Pepper – 1tsp
  • Garlic powder – 1/4tsp
  • Tomato(finely chopped) – 2nos
  • Capsicum(chopped) – 1/2of
  • Green chillies(chopped) – 3nos
  • Honey 1/2cup
  • Red wine – 1/2cup
  • Salt(As reqd) –
  • Oil(As reqd) –
  1. For preparing honey chicken, first cut boneless chicken into long strips of 1/2 a inch.
  2. Make small slits in chicken pieces. Sprinkle salt, garlic powder and pepper and keep for 5 minutes.
  3. Heat oil in a pan. Fry chopped garlic and chicken and shallow fry it till it becomes golden brown in color.
  4. When chicken becomes tender add red wine and cook for 5 minutes.
  5. While frying chicken(without breaking into pieces), add chopped tomatoes, green chillies and capsicum.
  6. Fry chicken till the juice of tomatoes comes out. Gently add honey on top and just make a twist and cook for 5 minutes.
  7. Chicken should be well coated with honey.
  8. Serve honey chicken as a side dish with BBQ/grilled recipes.
