  • Chicken(cut into small pieces) – 800gm
  • Mustard oil 4tbsp
  • Onions paste(large) – 2nos
  • Ginger(garlic paste – 2 tbsp) –
  • Salt(As reqd) –
  • Freshly ground pepper – 3
  • Curd(well(beaten) – 1 1/2 cups, well) –
  • Bay leaves(Vazhana ela) – 3nos
  1. Wash chicken thoroughly and marinate it overnight with onions, curd/yoghurt, ginger, garlic and salt.
  2. Heat oil in a pan and add bay leaves and fry for 2 mins.
  3. Take the chicken pieces out of the marinate and fry them till they are brown.
  4. Add the liquid portion of the marination and fry it till the smell of the ginger/garlic is no longer there. Make sure that the chicken is at least 3/4 th done.
  5. Add the ground pepper and cover it and cook on low heat till the chicken is done.
  6. :- Serve hot with rice.
